ABUSE

Specialist support for women and children experiencing domestic violence. Refuge provides a national network of specialist services, including emergency refuge accommodation, community outreach, independent domestic violence advocacy, culturally specific services and a team of child support workers.

Refuge also runs the Freephone 24-Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline in partnership with Women's Aid.

For male victims of domestic abuse. They offer confidential advice, non-judgmental emotional support, practical information and help

Online directory of local victim and witness specialist support services as well as information about different types of crime and what happens at each stage of the criminal justice system, helping to 'demystify' the process for people when they may be at their most vulnerable.

Safe Space Sussex provides a secure environment where, at the click of a button, people who may be feeling unsafe can find out what local help and support is available to them

Umbrella agency for over 125 specialist voluntary sector agencies throughout the UK and Ireland providing a range of counselling, therapeutic and support services working with women, men and children who are victims/survivors of rape, sexual violence and sexual abuse.

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting

ANIMAL RESCUE

Local based charity providing rescue and homing for animals. They have a shop in Jarvis Brook, but due to social distancing requirements this will remain closed for now.

Weather permitting, they leave a selection of items outside between 9am and 1pm, weather permitting. Please put cash through the letterbox. Donations can be made between these hours. Please do not put donations outside unless it is between these times

The idea of Talk Club to get blokes to start small talking groups with your mates. Man time. You're not doing this because anything is wrong. In fact the complete opposite it's all about keeping mentally fit. Our mission is simply to get men talking more openly and honestly to each other. We want to change societal behaviour and see men everywhere chatting to their mates about their feelings. It's a great way to look after your mental health

Evidence-based app to help young people manage their emotions and to reduce urges to self-harm.

It includes a mood diary, toolbox of evidence based techniques to reduce distress and automatic routing to emergency numbers if urges to harm continue

Calm Harm provides tasks to help you resist or manage the urge to self-harm. You can make it private by setting a password, and personalise the app if you so wish. You will be able to track your progress and notice change.

 Please note the app is an aid in treatment but does not replace it
